I think the AMD weakness today is based on DELL downgrade and lower computer sales so I consider it a buying opportunity. The weakness is in business sales. Home and small business sales are not weak at all, rather stronger than normal for this time of year.

CNBC also is saying that CSCO's recent comments re flash is having its effect on AMD.

Also its very bullish that MOT is holding its gain and adding to it today. That means good news is NOT being totally ignored. Ditto SUNW, even with a forward PE is >100.

You are right about MOT, its holding its gain. I am hoping that XLNX and ALTR hold their gains from today too. I think its small things like that that will signal that the semi's are starting to bottom.

I also am encouraged that DITC may have stopped its incredible slide...its up 4 or 5 pts today.

Petz-

Shouldn't a DELL downgrade affect INTEL more than AMD? But AMD is down about 6 times more than Intel today.
