CSFB on EMC from their conference:
______________________

EMC (EMC-$82.50-Cap $179B-Buy)

Lessons from EMC University

· We attended the first day of EMC’s analyst conference designed to provide insight into storage trends.

· EMC believes that applications will drive the evolution of protocols, and has therefore chosen to remain protocol and topology independent.

· Even as inter-connectivity protocols change, the company believes that information and storage will remain at the center of the enterprise.

· The company believes DWDM (Dense Waveform Division Multiplexing) will enable the distribution of storage across metropolitan areas.

· EMC’s software remains a key focus with recent product introductions likely to evolve as platforms.

· We re-iterate our Buy Rating.

JRI, >Ruettgers on CNBC with Maria: Says he expects storage market to grow by 2 1/2 times by 2005....

Good, usual bullishness by Ruettgers, but the growth he forecast is just a shade over 20% per year. I thought projections were for faster storage growth than that. Did Maria call him on that? If not, come on Maria!
