Darrell - I was just looking at the IDC server data for last Q. They re-named servers to "SIAS" which stands for Standard Intel Architecture Server. This category does not cover all servers, just those with a base price under $25K; that covers everything DELL sells except for the 8450, and all of CPQ's ProLiant line except the 8000 and 8500. So pretty much everything but the 8-way machines.

"WW server shipments (units) grew 16% Y/Y. CPQ led the market, up 12% Y/Y for a 30.2% market share. DELL ranked second with a 15.2% market share, down slightly Q/Q and up 28% Y/Y."

"In the US, shipments (units) grew 22% Y/Y. CPQ led with a 32.3% share, up 27% Y/Y. Dell ranked second, with a 21.6% share, up 32% Y/Y."

So maybe this is part of the problem - DELL appears to have grown units at only 28% year over year. That may put the 50% growth in server revenue in question in some peoples' minds. It may be part of what is driving the stock price.
