AMD and Intel and 64bit

I think (this may be a little far in the future for this audience) that the AMD Intel war will be decided by whose 64bit architecture is adopted. AMD's is backwards compatible with x86 while Intel's is not. Given AMD's recent success, Intel's loss of credit, and the ease of shifting to a new architecture that supports the old architecture as well. AMD could gain control of the 64 bit standard and steal Intel's place.

Some great articles that I don't have the techno savvy to grok.
