This is probably why the VSTY folks are b*tching: siliconinvestor.com All those worthless lottery tickets (oops, I mean options)the employees are holding. I know someone in the bricks and mortar textbook business and they have suffered no drop in sales after the online companies started.

definitely...i think my stance on the ad based net business models is well known - they're doomed. it doesn't work, and never will. even the leader YHOO will be severely impaired once the bubble ends and viewing of its financial pages drops...also, an economic slowdown will see ad budgets slashed, and there will be much soul-searching over what ads are actually efficient. i'm using an ad blocker in order to load pages more quickly - i don't even see the ads anymore. why anyone would want to pay for that is beyond me...
