Hans, the institutions were clearly dumping today.

Look at the volume. And the size of the blocks.

Remember that Thompson I-watch (is that what you are looking at?) is a ridiculous typically contrarian indicator that is mostly used for bluffing.

AMD could pay for the debt with cash on hand. Also they close the sale of the Comm div this Q.

I *hope* the move was gamesmanship by SSB and AMD surrounding the tender offer expiry of 5PM today.

Hans,

< The institutes were very quit today, mostly buying. It must have something to do with these $400 million of
"11 percent Senior Secured Notes" How is AMD going to pay all this money? (Q1+Q2 profit together is just enough).
>

If your observation was based on IWATCh(@Thompson site), then you could be wrong. Iwatch doesn't pull the Institutional info from the actual transactions! It's merely giving you the info of the desire to buy/sell from the Institutions participating in their program or information collection. IMHO, not all institutions provide buy/sell information to them.

<Are these shares or is AMD paying off debt?

AMD is paying off the debt. The company has more than $1 Billion cash at hand.

Best regards,
