Ram - are you saying that Li polymer batteries that utilize cobalt must be enclosed in a container? I think we all understand that Li ion batteries of any type need to be enclosed, if for no other reason they have liquid electrolyte. Would a plastic case enclosing Li poly (cobalt type)battery be sufficient to control the explosion hazard? My main point is that the plastic case can be eliminated, along with the associated costs.

FWIW, In doing a search on Alliant Techsystems website today, using the keyword 'valence,' two links popped up. Have done this msearch before but first time anything ever showed up referenceing a connection with Valence.

Military apps using Li-poly looks promising. ;-)
