A very interesting pair of statements, as you noted.

The other question I have moving into this era of chip is that it seems we are moving into the domain where the performance exceeds the demands of most of the channel, at least the desktop channel ... despite the best efforts of Microsoft to comsume all available computing resources. So, one of the things we might see ahead of us is some channel splitting, i.e., it seems possible that IA-64 and K8 might have distinct niches.
