Last night my folks treated my wife and I to dinner and a Broadway show.

It was a lot of fun.
I hadn't been to Broadway since seeing "Evita" back in High School on a class trip.

We ate at Carmine's on 44th St. Excellent Italian food.
Continued to burp up some of it half way through the show...

We killed time upstairs from the theater at the Marriot Marquis Hotel.
He sat down and had a few drinks. After a while we realized that the floor was rotating around and provided us with a great view of Times Square. We did two laps, paying close to $60 for 6 drinks. The view, atmosphere, and piano player made it feel worth it.

I couldn't stop looking at the incredible Nasdaq building.
Those L.E.D.s made by CREE kept me amazed even though I've seen the sign/building 20 times before...

My parents had tickets to the classic "Annie Get Your Gun" of Ethel Merman fame.
The revival features Bernadette Peters and Tom Wopat (of The Dudes Of Hazard fame).
I really didn't expect to enjoy it. I went into it thinking that I would have rather have seen something else like "Rent", "Stomp", "Les Miserables", "Phantom", etc.

I was pleasantly surprised to find Bernadette Peters to be wonderful in this role. She was so funny and talented.

Tom Wopat was also a surprise. The dude could actually sing. Uncle Jesse and Daisy Duke would have been proud. :^)

I never would have guessed I would have liked this show.

A standing ovation greeted the talented show people at the finalle.

Anyhow, I plan to see a lot more shows now that I realize how lucky I am to live this close to it all.
