Tim, doing the same as you. Check out Canon at usa.canon.com After all my checking, I ended up buying a Kodak DC290. I needed to be able to record audio on each shot. Many of the better cameras don't have that feature, in a price range I could afford. DC290 looks to be a good overall package.

Tim - Best Buy has the Canon S20 for $799.99. Have looked at Costco and Buy.com and haven't found it at either of those places, but maybe someone else knows who might have it at a better price.

Here's the Canon S10 for much less:

Costco is carrying SanDisk CF cards - the 64MB card with USB reader for $149 seems like a pretty good price.

Tim,

You may want to look at the Canon S20 which is a 3.3 megapixel camera. It is small and solid. It is also very stylish. The S10 is the 2.1 megapixel variant. I would try to buy as many megapixels as your budget allows.
