Kulicke & Soffa Announces Customer Order Deferrals
WILLOW GROVE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 2000--Kulicke & Soffa Industries Inc. (NASDAQ: KLIC - news) today announced some customer order deferrals and push-outs for its 8028 ball bonders due to space constraints and wafer and substrate shortages affecting these customers.

Originally scheduled to be built and shipped during the fourth fiscal quarter ending September 30, 2000, the orders are now slated for production early next year. This may impact financial performance in the current quarter and in the first fiscal quarter of 2001 ending December 31, 2000.

``We hope no one overreacts to this news,'' said C. Scott Kulicke, chairman and chief executive officer. ``In general, demand continues to be very strong for all our products, but a few of our customers seem to have gotten a little ahead of the industry's growth curve. We expect that they will resume their recent order patterns in the near future, and that in spite of this pothole, K&S will continue to report financial results at near record levels.''

........

Hmm. People did overreact. ECNs show $18s..., off nearly 20%

Compx Does not look good.

The "four horsemen" get pounded and the continuation pattern is about to be completed. 3600 no hurdle.

(I hope. Otherwise I'd perhaps out of the game, but who should buy now?)
