Online brokers would only buy direct access if they could substantially reduce the costs. Right now the dumb money won't pay the $250 a month.

That's interesting news on avail. of pre mkt trading by Fidelity Schwab etc. I imagine the rest will fall in line shortly. Should have a substantial impact on the open come this winter.
