<<[World DRAM Price] Prices of 128Mb DRAMs Continue to Rise
August 2, 2000 (TOKYO) -- The prices of dynamic random access memory (DRAM) microchips are continuing to rise across the globe.
According to a worldwide DRAM price survey conducted by ICIS-LOR, the 30-day rolling average prices of 128Mb DRAM microchips (PC133, 16M x 8) for large-volume users for the period ending July 14 (June 15 to July 14, 2000) were US$14.31 in North America, US$14.23 in Europe, and US$12.77 in Asia. ICIS-LOR based in London, Houston and Singapore.

Compared to the previous week (the 30-day rolling average ending on July 7), the prices rose 2.00 percent in North America, 2.18 percent in Europe, and 3.36 percent in Asia. As for the spot prices for 128MB DIMM (PC133) memory modules, the prices rose 1.07 percent from the previous week to US$134.79 in North America, while they increased 1.81 percent to US$132.98 in Europe, and increased 2.82 percent to US$128.84 in Asia.

The daily prices of 128Mb DRAM microchips for contract users have risen to the US$15 range. Because the prices of 256Mb devices have declined, the unit prices per bit, including 64Mb products, are likely to move in the same range until the end of the year.>>
