Safe speculation was my fun wording.

I figure all investment activities to be speculative. Every so often situations present themselves, mostly when most are massively spooked, that companies on one's watch list are "over sold". The question then becomes "when will the over sold condition right itself", "what is the further downside vs the potential upside" and "what would happen to one's overall NAV if one is wrong".

I have been fairly open with my buys and sells, and I lose as well as win, but overall I am standing (so far) and so by definition, my speculative positions are safe overall (so far).
