Dear Ms. X,

Hi, I'm Pat's wife, the ersatz travel agent. If, as you say, the MGM is booked up that week, well, the best bet is to keep trying different hotels in the Las Vegas area that are able to accommodate you at the time of your choice, or at least in the time frame you're looking for. Hotel chains are often your best bet; Sheraton, Marriott, etc....Websites that are helpful in this are are the sites of the hotels themselves; Sheraton Hotels website, etc....but since Las Vegas is unique among resorts, the best advise I can give is to keep trying the myriad hotels in the area.

P.S,. The name of the movie where Sally Field was sweating profusely and organizing a Union was "Norma Rae."
