Richard-- I don't know if you think you're being clever, but an article that compares a 1.13Ghz P3 to a 1 GHz Thunderbird to a 900 MHz Athlon Classic and shows the 1.13 GHz P3 to have the highest score does not really say much directly. I wouldn't describe multiplying the score of the 1 GHz Thunderbird-- 149.9-- times 1.1 / 1.0 to get an approximate score for a 1.1 GHz Thunderbird as a "mathematical ability." I would describe it as a standard component of a third grade math curriculum.

Dick,

There is some non-linearity in benchmarks as clock speed increases. It is impossible to exactly predict what a MHz bump will do to benchmarks, so I qualified my remarks somewhat.

It looks to be a safe bet that T-Bird/PC133 1.1GHz is competitive with PIII/PC800 1.13Ghz.
