Albert - Re: future MaxPains

I haven't really followed MaxPains except to make some bad plays prior to options expiration. The future months are probably too thin and remote to be any influence on current stock pricing. After last month's options expiration pain (did buy some at about 81 -- bought on a nice small peak prior to close) I looked ahead and noticed that August looked "better" from the MaxPain perspective. And of course, now it looks like something to perhaps look forward to.

The aspect of the flash portion of the business that frustrates me is that when flash prices fell 30% on the spot market it was the "end of the world" but there hadn't been an appreciation that flash prices were still up more than 50% from the month prior. (There was a big daily data dump of AMD flash spot prices posted on the RB thread - Post #22428 by apasapas.)

Just a game -- but it isn't monopoly money. A stock buy-back program might be a useful tool in AMD's arsenal for providing a little moderation of these regular dips. And this might have been a nice use for the $400M, assuming they don't have debt obligations which would limit/restrict such a program. Perhaps the retirement of this debt was to eliminate some restrictions?

As I continue to hold AMD -- I try not to consider the "what if I had sold some back at $90+" but rather if I had cash to invest would I buy today? I only shed one of four buys from the last dip so the shares ascended and are now all paper losses and I don't have the same cash holding.
