Eric,

I am not sorry to learn that you are leaving this thread because I feel that I have been attacked by you for trying to argue a case that seeks to accomplish one primary goal...

...to separate SanDisk from the remainder of the flash pure-plays.

I use the SNDK Thread as a forum for discussion and don't try to cover or conceal my belief in SNDK's long term strategy. At times this requires contrasting SNDK's vision with the business plans of others in the flash field. You have taken this as an attempt to defame one of your investments. I think that is an unfair conclusion.

I still see major differences between SNDK and SSTI.

SNDK appears to be evolving into a diversified flash card company and an expert in the design and manufacture of ultra-high density flash memory.

SSTI appears to be evolving into a diversified embedded code, embedded flash-based controller/ASIC company and an expert in low density flash design and manufacture.

SNDK and SSTI apply their IP's in different manners with different results.

Much of my motivation to engage you and Huey has been to defend the SNDK flash card business and to give my interpretation of the merits of SNDK and its competitors by use of comparison. As an "interpretation" this leaves some wiggle room. I have tried to use factual information and reasonable inference in my posts. I am sorry if that offends your sensibilities.

As I said before, if it comes down to trumpeting the merits of embedded mass storage or defending the merits of CompactFlash and other removable memory solutions I will always stand behind SanDisk's business decisions. Even the notorious Nakhimovsky paper suggests he is ambivalent about the situation.

Finally, this is the SNDK Thread, not an SSTI support group.

Aus
