Cho,

I'm new to SI and was just wondering if most of you here are long or short AMD?

Most of the people on this thread are long AMD, except Yousef.

I'm short because I believe now that the industry is moving out of its "shortage" period and that AMD will suffer at the hands of Intel. AMD, IMO, is at a tremendous disadvantage and this time of profitability, which they recently have enjoyed, will be short lived.

Regarding shortage, there has always been and there always will be a shortage of the top performing parts, and glut of low performing parts. The question for next few quarters is who will be able to manufacture the high performing parts (to which there is no clear answer).

Joe

PS: please feel free to post more supporting info on your short recommendation, since we need more (reasonable) contrary opinion on this thread.
