David, Not enough lead time for chipsets and mobos. I am not sure what lead time AMD gave to Via and cronies?

My friend went in to buy a PC probably last week or so, expecting to get a cheap PC. He walked away with an HP Athlon 850 system. ;)

Or maybe they will buy lower end Athlons. Like a 750sb from Gateway for $1249, or a Compaq 700mhz Athlon system (I just configured one with a printer but with no monitor for $916, or any number or smaller vendors.
