absolutely a good point... people changing their mind and sending their machines back. i think that dell has a 30-day 'nevermind' return policy, where customer pays only shipping.

daverose should request a 'nevermind' unit if he opts for a refurbished computer. <g3>

I'd agree here. I bought a DELL laptop last year and was so totally frustrated with learning Win98, Office97, and the updated hardware I had to really wrestle with the decision on the 28th or 29th day whether to keep the thing or send it back for a full refund. The problem with this system resided totally between my own ears and not in the box sitting on my desk. I viewed returning it as a way of sparing myself the punishing brainwork required to master it. I kept it, but there are still days I wish I'd sent the thing packing when I had the chance. Again, the system had NO problems --- But I sure did. IF it was returned, the next person to receive it would've been delivered a perfectly working system without hardware or software problems.

I know this is just one case, and I don't know if it is typical.
