I apologize if this repeats but SI lost the first version.

There is an interesting comparison in the behavior of Cree
stock price last summer and now. On 7/13/99 Cree announced
a 2/1 stock split and the stock made a high of 41 that day.
By 8/4/99 the stock had declined 43% to 23.5. On 7/14/00
Cree hit a high for the day of 157 and has declined 46% to today's low of 84.75. Very similar behavior but the 72 point
decline feels a lot more painful than the 17.5 one. By 8/26/99 Cree recovered +49% to 35.13.
