Some more news on NT Verizon names Nortel in $500 million supply deal By TelekomNet Verizon Wireless plans to buy $500 million in wireless equipment from Nortel Networks Inc. over the next two years as it works to increase the capacity and coverage of its wireless system. The agreement will likely also include optical transport and asynchronous transfer mode switches for use in major metropolitan markets, as well as additional equipment to expand the company's current microwave backbone network, the company said.
