Clearly, you can't be thinking these things from drinking bottled water, Q. --- As soon as the nig bandwith rolls through the veins, the story changes rather quickly. --- Twister has no use for a PC. You do. No, actually you have a use for a thin client and a production workstation. --- I don't know anyone who needs a PC except for napster and porn (just like BBSing 10 and 20 years ago). --- It's not a growth industry anymore (anywhere). --- 95% of my computing takes place on a dumb terminal. I should disconnect the fans. --- The Javastation was early and ill timed against the collapse of PC prices. The SunRay is being deployed (*perfect* for schools). The administration issues of desktop PCs has become completely out of hand. The basic flaws of the PC promise (self administering, do everything box) is failed. --- Nothing Scott has said in the past about the Windows PC is less true now than before. ---Scott was nothing but right there. You're going to get a shitload of SUNW value over the next 3 years to a large degree as that 'vision' rises in the east. --- I'm disappointed at LSI and the slow depolyment of cool ubiquitous devices. --- I've got my money there though (the smaller part not invested in SUNW. I believe in that future. I've bought my last PC (except perhaps to make a firewall with -- no! those are free (486) along with the software. --- My recent $5 Osborne1 is *deffinately the last PC I buy. -JCJ
