I accept that. But therein lies the rub ...

If only I know it and I can't share it, it isn't objective. As in something like an object that can be handled or known by more than one person. I've got lots of things I suspect or even know are true, but I'd never have hubris to tell you or anyone else that they ARE true. They are undemonstrable facts (the weakest kind).

First I can't prove them. Second, they aren't transferable.
Because of these properties, they must be avoided in persuasive argument.

Example:

1. I have a gas pain. I know it. You don't. It is a fact but not one that you and I can share. I can't use my gas pain to prove anything.

2. I am nauseated. I know it. You don't. Unless I vomit (making it demonstrable) I can't prove I was nauseated. But upon vomiting, I can prove I was nauseating. You (probably reluctantly) can independently verify my nausea because of your knowledge of the connection between nausea and vomiting. Now you are nauseated too (or at least recognize that I was nauseated) and we have objective fact we share. See?

Sorry for the example, BTW.

If it can't be perceived by other people it isn't objective - to be objective something needs to be independent of individual thought- being able to perceived by more than one person.

Now a "fact" is:

A piece of evidence presented as having OBJECTIVE reality- hmmmmm- this doesn't jibe very well with something that is evident only to an individual. That is better termed a belief that something is a fact.
