Ram - Re Alcatel - I posted this a few days ago on Yahoo and still consider this a good possibility:
>>What I find really interesting about the VLNC/Alcatel relationship is that Alcatel is putting the VLNC Model 65 in their top of the line One Touch 300, 500, and 700 phones; yet, Alcatel has a wholly owned subsidiary (SAFT) which "introduced" a li-poly battery a year ago. SAFT’s web page still claims that theirs is "the world’s most manufacturable lithium polymer battery for portable telecomsParis (sic),..". SAFT’s web page also states that it "…has begun manufacturing its lithium polymer technology battery for the next generation of portable telecom applications."

Obviously their parent believes VLNC has the better product (3V vs VLNC's 3.8V etc). I wonder if VLNC and Alcatel are negotiating a licensing agreement for SAFT to manufacture the VLNC Model 65 cells. Possible. Comments?>>

Alcatel wouldn't have to be concerned about a second source, nor would anyone else, if SAFT was licensed to produce VLNC's cells. A good arrangement for all?
