I didn't say that Glenn. I just think the Amazon board at SI is so emotionally bearish its not
worth reading. You might get some good tidbits from that thread about other stocks, but
about Amazon probably not.

Liz,

I promised Jordi I would not debate Amzon here. I will only say the thread is emotionally bearish although maybe the fundamentals deserve that. I really do not consider the Amazon thread to have anything to do with Amazon. There are a lot of other stocks that are new ideas brought there although many are now on the New Economy thread. Your point is well taken that learning about Amazon on the Amazon thread will hardly give you any bullish points of view.

But people felt they had to buy from Oracle then, that was the issue. With Amazon what is it?
As far as technology Amazon literally invented an entire space in software which is now
owned by broadvision and vignette.

I hold a position in VIGN. You win hands down on knowing software so I cannot dispute you regarding Amazon inventing that technology. I would rather not agree so will only say (this si true) I do not have a clue.

If the people on Amazon think Jeff Bezos is a crook, is the
Broadvision guy also deserving of this animosity since he "stole" the idea from Amazon?

I do not know the FA of Broadvision well. I have not researched it and do not even know if they are profitable. I also do not know how much money the insiders have pulled out of Broadvision. I can't answer this properly. I do believe the threads complaint with Bezos (I really do not mean only Bezos) is the huge amount of money insiders have taken out of Amazon before Amazon has become a business that can stand alone and survive without more funding from the equity markets. The dollar amount of money that has gone to insiders is huge. Amazon (Bezos may get credit for that) is a wonder at making press releases that really hype stock price many of which are very misleading. Let's not go over them here. Please take my word for it that they are misleading.

Whether they can make a go of it with their logistical issues remains to be seen but it seems
to me people should be rooting for the company, not against it. Thats my only point.

I see you point and I would be rooting for the company if the insiders had not cashed out so many shares and the press releases and bookeeping were less misleading. My only point is I like honesty with good or bad news.

I notice HG was out today. One of my favorites. I wish she was around more often.

Let's forget Amazon based on Jordi's request and the fact there is likely nothing more to be said on the issue. I do like SI a lot because one may easily move to a different thread in th event the company on another thread is not to one's liking. I know that is true on all boards but your point in well taken that the Amazon thread is not for you.

I am not nearly on SI as much as I once was. My focus is on my on-line store and my traditional stores. The reason is I enjoy learning how to market on-line and truely believe I have learned a lot during the last nine months. I believe I have one of the most successful privatly owned on-line stores. It is not just the money but I feel good about doing something correctly. It is like a new occupation although I am not good at writing HTML. I am not a believe that the best code writing with the fanciest applets etc. makes the best site. I believe navigation and the easy understanding of content is by far the most important. I personally do not believe Amazon has quite got that concept down which confuses me since they should be able to access top talent.

So what stocks should I buy? <VBG>

Jordi,

I promise not to speak of Amazon here again.

Glenn
