SCUMbria - re: "The Duron dearth could also be related to the industry-wide capacity crunch. AMD is experiencing greater demand than it can satisfy. Although it opened a new manufacturing facility in Germany, only 30
percent of that new capacity is operational, according to AMD. As a result, the company is probably making the logical choice of dedicating its energy to making Athlon chips rather than Durons.
"They'd be crazy to say, 'Let's not make $600 chips. Let's make $150 chips," noted Peter Glaskowsky, an analyst at MicroDesign Resources. "

1. This says NOTHING from AMD.

2. This says NOTHING about AMD not being able to meet AThlon demand.

Why did you try to "finesse the facts" again, SCUMbria?

If that were a normal fab opening I would agree, but Fab30 took over 3 1/2 years to come on line. That was more than enough time to get things up and running and equipped. When Intel couldn't meet demand you claimed a yield problem. It's starting to smell more and more like a yield problem at AMD.
