Jim, Re: Notice the budget KT100 chipset which was likely supposed to be for Duron...

KT100 looks interesting, thanks for the link. We'll see more of it shortly I'm sure.

Before the MSI K7T Pro, I'd never been around VIA products much, but heard (and continue to hear on this board) much grumbling about them. I was reserved about the KT133 boards in general.

Having built several of the MSI machines, I can say my reservations about VIA's new products were needless. The boards are impressive and solid so far. As an AMD long, I for one am glad to have had VIA's support this past 6 or 8 months. Yes, I know the KX133 was supposed to be out late last year, yes we can all blame VIA for the absence of Duron (not knowing any of the real details of the Duron) but what would AMD be like today without VIA? I'm glad AMD was not burdened with all the headaches and distractions and motherboard co-ordinations that VIA handled. Somehow we've got some pretty good boards available now and more coming, and most of the boards at the moment have lots of VIA chips and design in them. Things are a lot more solid than they were a year ago!

BTW, I received my Asus A7V delivered today, got the processor and heat sink/fan mounted on the board and the board in the case with most of the wiring done, but haven't fired it up yet (tomorrow).

Kindest regards,
CrazyMan
