John Re..<<<<3. IMO, CPQ and HWP are being extremely shortsighted not adopting the Duron because it doesn't fit into their pre-defined schedule. <<<<<<

John, the simple truth is that it takes time to get the cpu's boards chipsets, etc and have the confidence to tell Best Buy etc. that you will have X number of computers there on time for their preschool sales. The fact is that not one of the major manufacturers could do it, so why blame them.

I realize that every one here is disappointed over the share price, but that's wall street. AMD should not have the responsibility of trying to be aware of wall street's quirks. The truth is, if MM want to make money, they just start a rumor, and when the price drops - buy. If intel wants to make money, Intel just needs to buy shares of a company and then announce Intel will be using their product. How difficult is that?

AMD's Duron intro wasn't as good as we hoped, but apparently, the chip is fine, yields are good, demand is great. Wall street will come around again eventually. And I sincerely they do before Mani and I are broke.
