Dear Auric: And what's that bouncing across the road? Oh my god, the guy has just pitched the steering wheel

That reminds me of something funny but stupid I used to do as a teenager years ago. I had a 1958 MGA, perfectly balanced. On a straight, flat road you could take your hands off the steering wheel and it would run true and straight. The steering wheel came off with a single nut on the hub. I used to keep that nut loose and if I had a fellow passenger who seemed pretty Macho with me, sometimes I would quietly unscrew the nut, take off the steering wheel and hand it too him saying, "here, you drive for awhile". Never failed to get a rise out of them. haha. JDN
