<<GWB needs to appear as the 'dominant figure'...no small task next to Dick Cheney-

Just a thought. >>

And a damned good one. GWB has more charisma than Cheney has so he'll get the spotlight. Cheney will have the role, and do it well, that he can be a good adviser and be able to be president in case the unspeakable should happen.

Lorrie, thanks for your view. However, I don't think having strong people around him will have any negative effect on GWB. Over the years I have learned that the very best leaders realize their victory is in having a strong team. The one thing that excites me about GWB administration is that I believe we will have one of the greatest "management" teams in our history. Colon Powell, Condoleeza Rice, Bob and/or Elizabeth Dole, John McCain and other true heavyweights with great skill and knowledge. Contrast that with the present administration; Bill Clinton has to be the star. Look at the "no names" he brought in to the key positions in his administration. It would be difficult to think of one highly experienced, great credential person he has "hired." I believe his personality is that he has to be able to "pitch" because he feels he owns the baseball. I think George Bush would strategize to build the team that would win. To me, that is the difference. And, it is an immense difference. Better days lay ahead.
