While price movement is subdued today, the A/D and New High/New Low numbers are looking better on the Nasdaq...

New Lows are not overpowering New Highs on the Nasdaq by the 8:1 and 4:1 margins we've seen recently... The less than 2:1 margin, while not great, shows a reduction in the ferocity of selling...

A look at the market proxies:CSCO GE OEX NDX shows a lateral trading range since June...

GE has been locked in a tight trading range between 48.00 and 55.00 for months...

It is once again near the top of a price channel that has repelled it many times in the past 3 months... With a better than 95% correlation with the S&P 500, we need to see GE close above the 55.00 area to break a 3 month down trendline... That would signal that the broader markets are ready to start moving up again...
