Sarmad, Online bookstore Chinese Books Cyberstore collapses in Asia as the ebb in Internet funding hits the region.
The Hong Kong company, one of the largest online booksellers, will go into voluntary liquidation today after failing to secure additional funding from shareholders.
The Chinese version of Amazon.com, also raises doubts about the future of other business-to-consumer Web sites in the region, as the Internet industry continues to consolidate.
Chinese Books Cyberstore's failure could mark the beginning of a shakeout in Asia's online retail business.
