I in no way support the abdication of responsibility to the family in order to follow one's dreams. I'm talking about abdicating slavery to societal expectations in order to live a life that is meaningful. For every family you know that has been wrecked by a dreamer, I'll bet there are 4 who've been wrecked by workaholics who thought giving their families material wealth was more important than emotional wealth. Screw my damn the torpedoes hyperbole. I just wish more people would live the lives they truly want (and can have) rather than the lives they feel are expected of them. Whole hell of a lot of that going around.
