American Beauty-he blackmailed his boss to regain his dignity- I think it fits-even if he was getting fired.

In Lost in America he quit his job because of a "bald headed fart from New York" who came to work with him, while someone he didn't like got a promotion he thought he deserved. So he decided to be like Easy Rider, blah blah blah in a motorhome- touching Indians and all that.

Until the end it was definitely about sticking it to the boss and finding yourself- but finding yourself didn't turn out to be as great as it seemed. Sometimes you are probably better off lost.

9 to 5 was definitely about female workplace dignity and sticking it to the boss.

And there's another movie- Tumbleweeds, I think it was- where the gal up and quits her job because she feels she has a mindless job.
