You won't get it from Dell, I found it on the Intel site that the version of ATA drivers Dell supplies are old and will cause registry errors. Dell tech support knows nothing about this, but they should have a number of calls from me logged, and hopefully looking into getting new drivers and correct this damn problem.

Intel warns ONLY use the manufacture drivers, and Dell has not authorized those drivers, so if you do a clean install, look on your Dell resource CD for the ATA Ultra 66 drivers, if you install these with Win 98 SE, you will frick up your registry.

I think this may only affect the 820 chipset, if you are using a Dell 4100, I don't believe you have the 820 on your MB.
