Its baffling how the broadcast networks think they're relevant. By 2004, those news departments will probably be shut down.

"Journalists have become a white collar street gang"

I recently corresponded with a leading business columnist who informed readers he had gone to Harvard with the Justice Department lawyers who felled Bill Gates, and they were out for blood over his lack of respect. When I noted that the law makes no mention of arrogance, I was informed curtly that this is how the "real world works."

Alas, this is true. But only because journalists have become a white collar street gang, largely unaware of the value of their own work to the greater good of society. Emerson told us of reporters whose words were carved in granite, anchored in mission and in truth. Journalism is getting the kind of PR it deserves in a world where Matt Drudge beats the assembled mass of the profession's best on a near daily basis.

DMA, Why am I not surprised???? And they have the gall to pretend that it was not done on purpose. That's just how low Rather has sunk. I didn't see that part, because I avoid Rather at all costs.

Rush pointed out today that SeeBS might be trying to make room for Clinton's speech. Too bad they didn't give Laura Bush the same consideration. Wonder if there is en equal time issue here...
