Dear Bosco: Although I have only been using NT's "Sprint" Internet Call Waiting for a few hours now, I can tell you already how I like the service: It's great! The technical support is great, too!

The way it works, my computer makes one ring when there is an incoming call. An NT window pops-up giving me a few options, including answer the call or have the caller leave a message. The telephone number and name of the caller show on the screen so I can make my decision.

I take all incoming calls so I click on, "Answer." A small window pops-up over the main NT one that says I shall be disconnected from the internet if I take the call. I have to click the, "Yes," box to take it.

Within a few seconds of clicking, "Yes," my telephone rings and I get the call.

For anyone who only has one telephone line this service is fantastic, well worth the $4.95 plus whatever one's telephone company charges for Line Busy Call Forwarding ($1.25/month for me). If I had not stumbled upon Internet Call Waiting I was prepared to have a second line installed at a residence I only use a few months a year.

From what I understand, the service will develop such that in the future, one will _not_ have to disconnect from the internet to take calls.

I am very happy. A few days ago someone on the CPQ thread had pointed me to one of the internet answering machine services, which also require Line Busy Call Forwarding. It was nice in that people could leave a message while I was online then I could return their call a few minutes latter. NT's offering is ***much*** better--especially since most of my calls are long distance.

BTW, if you have and like MCI there is no reason to change carriers. I use AT&T and like my plan, which is no longer offered. Signing-up for Sprint Internet Call Waiting leaves my AT&T plan intact.

Regards,

Lynn

P.S. The first month is free for those of us who do not change to Sprint for our long distance carrier. Only Sprint customers get the first 6 months free.
