Taking things seriously and acting with care is certainly appropriate at times. Like when we're walking a tightrope. But Neo, we're (the vast majority of us in this country) walking on a boulevard of dreams that 99% of all the people in the history of the world have never enjoyed. Our (relative) material wealth is so great that we've begun to take it for granted, feeling anything less than our shiny new Honda or nights at the opera would translate to hardship. We owe it to the memory of all the people who've really suffered, who never even had the prospect of attaining a fraction of our standard of living to be a little more rash, a little more bold BECAUSE WE CAN.
