Brookelise, If SI is moderating the thread SI is not moderating this thread. The thread is being moderated by a regular SI member - Mani - who volunteered to be the moderator. BTW, Paul was not banned, he was suspended for 2 weeks and the suspension will go away soon. And I believe Mani will erase the reference to the suspension from the heading. Joe

I am sure you will be astonished more. There is no fairness for this person, and no punishment is enough for people like him. I hope he will be banned permanently from this thread. I am partially satisfied seeing his banned name every time I open the moderated thread. P.S. Mani, you may consider this as my vote to ban Engel permanently, with his name on continuos display on the topic headings. Thanks.

Brookelise, Just take a look at his past posts and see how he invents obscene names for people and products, all based on the original name, with some changes. How would you like to have someone post to you as "Brooksleaze" all the time? It wears thin, as it wore thin in grade 5 or so when most of us last had that kind of experience. So what to do? Fight fire with fire?, sure, we can do that, and let the thread turn into a series of tirades with ever more obscene and insulting names created until the very basis of the thread becomes secondary to the name calling function. I do not want to be bothered with that kind of persistant rhodomontage, I was not abused as a child and thus do not take pleasure in or get relief or joy from abuses and counter abuse and counter-counter abuse, etc etc....it never ends. Perhaps you recall the comic character "grelber", whose claim to fame was an insult to all and sundry? Well grelber was good at his job.....and thus came this moderated thread. The moderation is quite light and only persistent violators get banned, so far he is the only one banned for a short period. SI does the same, but you just cannot log in and no-one knows where you have gone unless you tell them. As they say, "walk a mile in those shoes....." Bill
