Whose STB(set-top box) did you get when you upgraded to digital TV services? General Instruments, DST 2000 series: gi.com 3. And can you give me info on the IPG(interactive program guide)? In the onscreen guide, there is probably an, "About," option. Much like a software program on a PC. Frankly, I simply use the thing for basic service. I got the Digital service because Bloomberg TV was included in one of the sports packages, as was ZD-TV. While each of these stations have a small amount of useable info, I find that I no longer have much tolerance for the seemingly interminable commercial breaks on these stations. OK, so I'm whining. The real problem with Bloomberg TV is that it turns out it is nothing like the Bloomberg terminal, or even the website for that matter. While the screen is "busy" the content is simply not actionable. I learn nothing there. They have the same inane commentary that is available at all the other financial news outlets. Oh, you were asking about "About". Yeah, they've got Channel One reserved for a tutorial on all the wonderful things that the STB can do for me, the consumate consumer. Stuff like how to buy pay-per-view, how to subscribe to premium channels, how to......spend more money and permit "(t)he DCT-2000..... state-of-the-art digital compression technology to provide a wealth of new revenue generating services to the cable industry." Gosh, I should be doing my part, right? Instead, I spend my time at this inane learning game on the Internet. ;~) 4. What price/month did you pay for your old analog TV package? 5. What price/month is the upgraded digital TV package? 6. What is the price/month of a comparable DBS package? $30-$40-$207. Even with digital TV capabilities, your MSO is still not able to offer you a cable modem, right? I have a cable modem. This one: 3com.com Service cost: $40 per month. Best, Ray
