Anyone interested in the future of cell phones and other
portable computing devices should check out a speculative company called Microvision (MVIS). They have patents on, and make a device called a virtual retinal display (VRD). It basically is a tiny thing that projects red green and blue lasers into your eye to create an image that looks like a 15" monitor. It has already been demonstrated to work, they are in the process of shrinking the tech down to the point where you can put it into a cellphone. Of course you might look silly holding your cell phone up and looking at it, but for a virtual 15" display I'll do it.

well I have had text message capability and never used that ...lots of this stuff I dont think most care about....Naveen pointed out a use I think holds merit....you are at circuit city....you find the right new camcorder at 1500....you plug in a upc code in your web ready "active shopper" infospace feature on your cell phone and up comes a price of 1400 by mail order ......you tell the sales guy you found a better price.... he matches the price....another thing from what I can see all the carriers feel they need to have wireless web to compete because everyone else has it so it looks to me it will just be part of the package whether you want it or not and won't cost much more either way......the hold up however is it requires a new phone..... that at least in the case of att the new phone has a cdpd modem built in so it can connect to the web and the phone you have now in your pocket don't have that feature ....so who is going out buying a new phone just to do this stuff???? Its going to take several years in my opinion to happen in a big way so revenues from that source for insp won't in my opinion pick up anytime soon......another insp question I have had for anyone.......why is it that they power so many sites for white pages, yellow pages etc yet their revenues are not all that high considering the number of sites they are linked too.....how can we find out info on how exactly they get paid for this?? My concern is Naveen in his desire to grow big and get name recognition basically gave this stuff away super cheap...I saw some reference to that fact somewhere.
