Soulive was much better live than the CD.
I'd definitly go see them again. Bela
was good but not as good as the last few
times I saw him. He seemed a mite sluggish.
They played Europe last month and it was hot,
muggy and buggy out last night so it's
understandable. The new material he did was
good, Victor did a handful of awesome short
solos, Jeff did Two Horn Blues, the bonus track
if you get the new CD from Borders. Future Man's
solos are getting a little stale for me but I
hadn't walked around and I needed something to
drink so I just talk a little walk. I was hoping
Soulive's guitarist would sit in with Bela but he
didn't, he has jammed with Scofield. It's the first
time Soulive and Bela played together maybe they'll
jam in the future. BTW my meat eating friends liked
the chicken I grilled for them but surprisingly liked
the grilled veggies better. Picked a few plum tomatoes
today and will be picking in quantity by next weekend.
I finally have enough Jerry tomatoes to give Iko some
so she's happy.
