As for IBM and AMD, something hit the skids there late last year - my guess is that when IBM decided to "go direct" and not use retail, they found that AMD's manufacturing system didn't fit their needs - and that their major customer focus was CORPORATE - and CORPORATE purchases still prefer INTEL by a long shot.

Compaq confirmed this just a few days ago !
