There is no deal, there is the continued attempt to get conservative jurisprudence. Scalia is a Roman Catholic and Clarence Thomas is Episcopalian. Bork didn't even belong to a church until recently, although his wife is Catholic, and I believe is now an Episcopalian. Richard Posner, who is conservative on many judicial issues, although not abortion, is a Jew with agnostic or atheistic views. The common thread is that one does not seek to legislate from the bench..........
