Incorrect. What did they buy in the last year that produced ??

Their press release attributes the best performance increase to mines in South Africa that they have owned for years: "Significantly improved performance at Great Noligwa and TauTona, together with continued strong performances from Kopanang, Tau Lekoa, Tshepong, Savuka and Ergo, resulted in gold production increasing by approximately 2% over the previous quarter to 42,640 kilograms (1.4 million oz)."

They bought stakes in Geita (offical open August 3, 2000) and Morila (to open in October 2000), which will make them larger next year, not now.
