mechanism for changing the Constitution,
Then it could be like the Texas constitution which changes every time the legislature meets. The Consitution works best like an anchored boat, still able to bob up and down with the changing waves. Tie it too tightly and it will eventually sink. Changes should be limited to major policy shifts, such as the ending of slavery, and not to the moral crusade of the moment, like prohibition.

Neo, scanning through the thread today it looks like the Democratic supporters are in panic mode after the speech last night. The "compassionate conservative" tide is sweeping across the America's. And it's hitting them like a 100 foot wall of reality.

Conservatives have finally found a leader in George W. Bush. He may not speak the lines in quite the same way as Ronald Reagan, and he may not have as commanding a presence. But he does have the ability to unite and lead the nation toward the ideals and values most Americans accept and admire.

The pressure is now all on the Democrats and Al Gore. I don't believe their organizational skills are nearly effective enough to get the job done. The scare tactics won't work this time, so all they have left is "character".

It doesn't take a rocket science to see a "character" comparison playbook won't cut it.

It should be interesting indeed to see the Democratic women fawning all over the probable "rapist and Chief" Bill Clinton at the convention. They may get swooned and mesmorized by his eyes, but most will see the phoniness that surrounds him and the rest of his embarrassing followers.

"The wheel has turned and it's time for them to go"!

As George W said last night, we can begin again and insist on leaders who share the values of honesty, integrity, courage, responsibility and decency again.

We owe it to our children to try.
