Re: Same day delivery!

That's been there for months. It's been a bit hard to figure, since no one else has had 1GHZ parts. Either they're fibbing, or IBM doesn't sell many high end retail PC's anymore.

That "ship today" isn't news. Or new news, at any rate - like a two headed snake, a 1GHZ PIII is always news.

During what year will we routinely see 1GHZ PIII's on a store shelf? 2001? 2002? How long ago was that thing announced?

:-)

Re: Looks like the GigaMine is now in volume! The noose tightens......

For Q4, Duron will be 700 to 900MHZ at $55 to $125. Thunderbird will be 1GHZ to 1.4GHZ at $150 to something like $700.

With these prices and speed points AMD will have blowout profits.

How will Intel's Q4 be with these prices / speedpoints? By that time INTC will also be facing UltraSparc III, Mustang, Thunderbirds on AMD, Ali, SiS, and VIA DDR motherboards and multiprocessor AMD systems.

We've already seen 3 months into Intel's future with the 62 degree 1.13 parts and so far, not good enough. Is there a miracle waiting in the wings?

How many Willy's will be shipping by Q4? Intel's been shoving the 1.13 PIIIs out to reviewers straight from the first test runs, why aren't they parading Willy about?

Intel has been so anxious to impress everyone with the 1.13 PIII, wouldn't we be even more impressed by Willy? Why not blow us away with its amazing performance? It does have amazing performance, right?

Elmer - RE: "Looks like the GigaMine is now in volume!"

The 1GHz PIII came out nearly FIVE months ago, and you are getting excited about IBM selling 1GHz PIIIs on the same day?

Do you really have that low standards?

Why are Dell and IBM the only places I can find a 1GHz PIII for sale?

1GHz PIII...still a low volume product.
