disu,
Good luck with the health food research. I do like using bread machines, they are so simple and you can program them to start the bread so that by the time you are home from work or up in the morning you will have fresh bread. I don't think you can use them to make cookie dough. The cookie dough is too soft and doesn't require that intense heat to raise the dough, but if you have one or intend to buy one, then the manual will explain what you can use it for. My machine does not allow anything except the bread doughs.
I have many bread recipes, what kind are you interested in?
White, Italian, cinn.raisin, challah, Rye, etc... Let me know your preference and I'll post it for you.
